Job Application: Digital Marketing Manager

Milkweed Editions, an independent publisher of transformative literature, seeks a Digital Marketing Manager.

 

Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive cross-channel digital marketing campaigns for frontlist and backlist titles
  • Leading and managing the creation and scheduling of website content, metadata, campaigns, and features to increase engagement, enhance brand presence, and drive sales and donor contributions
  • Developing and implementing social media strategies, content, and campaigns for frontlist and backlist titles, fundraising appeals, and membership acquisition campaigns
  • Developing digital marketing content for retail, consumer, donor, member, and academic newsletters, e-blasts, giveaways, events, and promotional advertising
  • Directing digital marketing and e-commerce promotions through online retailers, book clubs, NetGalley, GoodReads, online advertising, social media influencers, and trade and consumer-facing websites and newsletters
  • Overseeing all title and brand content and metadata on B2B and B2C digital platforms
  • Providing communications strategy and support for fundraising initiatives, including content creation, design, and copywriting for digital and print collateral
  • Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on website and social media analytics 
  • Advising authors on online presence and engagement strategy, including websites, social media, newsletters, etc.
     

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years related experience in book publishing, with experience directing and executing strategic digital marketing campaigns, preferably with a non-profit organization
  • Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Skilled knowledge of WordPress, Google Workspace/G Suite, e-newsletter platforms, Salesforce, Canva, and database management
  • Proficiency in website optimization and utilizing web analytics. 
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, and content management systems
  • Passion for the mission of Milkweed Editions
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle tasks from multiple points of contact
  • Demonstrated ability to work well on a team, while also being self-directed and quick to take initiative

Strong preference will be given to candidates in or willing to relocate to Minneapolis. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. Compensation will be determined based on experience, within a range of $60,000–$70,000 per year.
